What is the Leadership Training Program?
The Leadership Training Program (LT) is available for girls who have competed their sophomore year (or 10th grade) in school. For many, it is a natural continuation of their personal growth and development that
is an important part of everyday camp. It is also about challenge, goals and commitment. This is not an easy program – it asks a lot of you. Expect to be challenged, to feel overwhelmed at times, to learn a lot about yourself and othe rs and, at the end of it all, to feel an immense sense of satisfaction and pride in all that you have accomplished. The purpose of this program is to teach valuable life skills, not just skills that will benefit you at camp. The focus of the program is on your own personal growth through working with others and children.
As a LT, you represent Camp Lake Hubert and bear the responsibility in upholding the integrity of the program. You will participate in many of Camp Lake Hubert’s long standing traditions, including carrying the torches that bring the entire camp to the waterfront area for lighting the opening and closing campfires and performing the final canoe drill. The LTs make a significant contribution to the overall quality of the Camp Lake Hubert program, and therefore have experienced a very special respected image with most of our campers.
Each Phase of the program has a specific purpose and goal, and is offered only during our four week sessions. The application process is competitive and enrollment during each session is limited to insure the quality of leadership that is so important to this program.
