Camp Lincoln Camper: Bobby M.

Get to know Bobby through his experience at Camp Lincoln.

Camp Lincoln has truly become a core piece of my life, and has left a deep impact on me through the eight summers in which I have been very fortunate enough to return to year after year for unforgettable experiences. When I arrived at camp my first year as an eight year old, I was skeptical and convinced that I was not going to make friends. After just five minutes of being there, I had honestly made friends with everyone in my chalet. This was when I knew that Camp Lincoln was going to be my summer haven for years to come. I quickly discovered that Lincoln has literally something for everyone, and I have never talked to anyone who has been bored at camp. From the massive climbing wall, to the amazing days out on the lake sailing and fishing, I was really able to make the most out of my activities at camp.

Camp also taught me a lot about values and development in an environment where no challenge was impossible. The five camp core values are ideals that were an important part of everyday life at camp to reach your full potential while guiding and encouraging your fellow campers today. The values that I used at camp throughout my years as a camper and last year as an LT have not only been useful at camp, but have also been incredibly valuable at home. On top of the guiding values which camp has prepared me with, it has also been a place where I have developed some of the strongest relationships of my life.

After eight years, I have still been able to maintain close relationships with the campers and staff I met during my first year, along with many new faces throughout my years at camp. Living with kids your age in such a close and fun environment really allows you to get to know your fellow campers and counselors like brothers in an experience, which is truly like nothing else you will ever do. I now return to camp for my ninth year as an LT 2 because it has become an amazing ritual for me, to have a blast and make amazing friends. Camp Lincoln has truly been an incredible and unique experience for me and has left me with some of the best memories of my life.
