During their stay at Camp Lake Hubert, campers and counselors call our rustic, log-style cabins their home away from home! Each of our cabins features a unique, two-story design with two camper chalets (sleeping rooms) and one counselor chalet on the ground floor, as well as a larger chalet upstairs. There are around seven to eight campers per chalet and five staff per cabin. Campers are given their own bed, green shelf (bedside table), and a large column of cubbies for all of their personal belongings. Even though chalets are shared with a small group of campers, every camper has their own personal space for themselves and their belongings. Our cabins offer indoor bathrooms with heated water and individual stalls.
On cool evenings and during downtime, campers and counselors are able to play games, tell stories, and have cabin meetings, all while taking advantage of the wood-burning fireplace in each of our cabins’ center chalets. To create more opportunities to build various communities on camp, our cabins are organized into Two-week, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior Divisions based on school grade and length of stay. Each division, or group of cabins, has their own centrally located shower house. Each shower house is equipped with individual shower stalls and heated water. Our cabins offer indoor bathrooms with heated water and individual toilet stalls.
Amelia's favorite aspect of camp was making new friends from different backgrounds. We really valued the opportunity for her to challenge herself socially and with new activities.
Kit successfully navigated significant time away from me (her safety net), and had a blast. I think she will be more confident heading into new situations.
Camp Lake Hubert has been an incredibly positive experience for Maeve over the last 5 years and has helped develop her independence and compassion. It's one of the best parenting decisions we have ever made and we are so thankful.
