Family camp was an absolutely amazing time for our family. It brought back many fantastic memories of the eight summers I spent at Camp Lake Hubert as a young person. In particular, seeing my family sing the same camp songs that I sang as a camper, like Flicker of the Campfire, and Fried Ham was truly special. Also, just being on the beautiful grounds of Camp Lake Hubert brought back so many happy memories too. To see my daughters running down the same path that I ran down as a child, making lanyards and going to Chapel overlooking Bass Lake was truly extraordinary.
To spend a week in such peaceful and serene surroundings with our family without any television, radios or connectivity to the world allowed us to really relax and enjoy one another. And we didn’t have to cook any meals either! We also met and became friends with several other very nice families who share a common appreciation for Camp Lake Hubert and for spending time as a family as we do.
Our family had a simply terrific experience at family camp. It brought together all the wonderful elements of my childhood Camp Lake Hubert experience and provided the perfect forum to introduce my daughters to the camp that remains one of my most treasured memories. Not only does everyone in our family want to return to family camp, but also our daughters literally cannot wait to become Camp Lake Hubert girls themselves!
