It’s a sad farewell that we bid all of our campers today in Prep 4 and Session 2, as our Traditional Camp comes to a close. This week was jam-packed at Camp Lake Hubert – with a spectacular Color Wars Special Day where the whole of camp was split into White (“for Life”) and Green (“for Spirit”) teams and they competed in different games, from Capture the Flag to an exciting relay at the end. The Green team prevailed this session, but all the campers showcased great sportsmanship on the day.

On Sunday, the Fireflies cabin presented a moving Chapel ceremony with Quality Relationships, as a theme, and then we had not only the Junior and Prep Camp Banquet at Lunch, but also the Intermediate and Senior Camp Banquet at Dinner! Campers received their awards in various activities and enjoyed the traditional banquet meal of “Squirty Chicken” (Chicken Kiev), mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and an ice cream with chocolate sauce and sprinkles.

After Dinner the whole of camp gathered on Bass Beach for the closing campfire beneath a beautiful Minnesotan Northwoods Sunset. Our campers in LT received their plaques and paddles for completing their leadership phases, many campfire favorite songs were sung accompanied by guitar, and of course we also had the Canoe Drill presentation by the light of lanterns.

Monday was packing day for all campers, followed by some Division activities. Many campers got to write bus notes for their friends to read on the way home and our LT and Clubhouse campers enjoyed their own banquet and barbeque meals.
What an exciting summer it has been and camp days are not yet done…yes, we start Family Camp at

Camp Lake Hubert on Thursday and then our Coed and Tennis Camp sessions start on the same day at Camp Lincoln.
