Our Coed Session and Tennis Camp #1 are underway, and it is nice to have such an enthusiastic group of campers with us for these programs. There was a positive buzz happening the first night, as campers met their cabin mates, toured camp and were gearing up for a great camp experience. The tennis campers were able to get on the courts for some testing before and after dinner, although a little rain hit the early evening. The Coed campers did their first sign up for activities that evening at dinner, as activities started the next morning.

For Coed Session, there are five activities each day, two in the morning and three in the afternoon. This allows the campers to try lots of different things, from all the land and water activities. They will sign up for each day, with the opportunity to continue skill work in an area that they want to develop and focus on. Thursday saw some intermittent rain, yet we were able to get most of the activity periods in, as the rain clouds skirted north or south of us most of the day. Friday night for Coed was a cabin activity night followed by the opening campfire, which featured songs, skits, words of wisdom…and of course a big WELCOME from all the staff. Coed welcomes 14 campers from Rostov-on-Don, Russia, so your child will learn a few Russian words by the end of Coed.

Saturday has been a marvelous day, with sunshine and a very pleasant wind for the day. Lots of activity happening for sure. Tonight is a field meal for all, followed by a fun dance for Coed in the dining hall (Pirate theme, so it will be “arrrr…iffic night”).

Our tennis swatters have been on the courts full swing. There are seven groups (4 in each group) this camp, and the coaches are so excited to be working with these players. Todd Ruedisili and Eric Stacey head up the Tennis Camp, and along with seven coaches, have a busy week of instruction and testing scheduled. Today, Tennis campers were on the courts all morning, signed up for camp activities this afternoon and will hit the courts again tonight after dinner. The tournament experience is set for Monday.

Be sure to send along your Bunknote emails to your camper, as they love to receive mail.

Thanks for the update! I’m sure David and Annie are having a wonderful time playing tennis and enjoying all of the other wonderful camp activities you’re providing them. What a great experience.
