In addition to our 40+ activity offerings six days a week, Camp Lake Hubert plans Special Days once a week for all campers and staff! Special Days add excitement, variety, imagination, and flair to everyone’s time at camp. Along with the three brand new Special Days and Color Wars, the biggest day of them all, Camp Lake Hubert also hosts multiple special events. Some examples of our Special Days and events include:
Though Lincoln and Hubert are single-sex camps, Three and Four-week campers, who have finished the 7th grade, get together once every four weeks at Camp Lincoln for a themed evening of dinner, games, and supervised dancing. The Camp Lincoln Leadership Training Level 1 Participants (LT 1s) plan, DJ, and facilitate the evening for all campers and staff in attendance. Who is ready to get their groove on?!
Happening once every Four-week session at Camp Lake Hubert, Color Wars is one of the biggest and most exciting camp traditions to ever grace the shores of Lake Hubert! Once a camper is assigned to either the Green Team or the White team, they will forever be a valued member of that team, carrying their color through the generations within their immediate family. Throughout the day, teams compete in various activities to gain a strategic edge for the exciting culmination of Color Wars – A gigantic relay race that winds through the entirety of camp and involves every single camper. The relay race ends when the elected captains burn through a rope suspended above their team fire. One of the oldest campers is chosen to represent each team!
We all know how important birthdays are for all of us. Campers with birthdays during camp are treated to a giant camp-version of the birthday song in their dining hall, as well as a homemade birthday cake for the birthday girl to share with their cabin. A very special day indeed!
Many of our campers have siblings across the lake at Camp Lincoln. Twice every Four-week session, we hold a lunch for our attending siblings at either camp. Our staff will entertain the siblings who will play games, while enjoying special field meal together. Siblings will get the chance to visit with each other and share the exciting memories they have made at camp so far.
The growth exhibited from my daughter in her short time at camp is so impressive! Even her grandparents noticed the changes in her confidence levels and maturity.
I think camp has been positive and so many ways for both of my children. It has increased their confidence and self-esteem by going somewhere new and having so many positive and meaningful connections.
I love the sense of responsibility and ownership she has when she comes home from camp. Her confidence level is amazing and I love her positive attitude when things don't go as planned.
