LT Reflection: Week 2 LT Update


With camp now in full swing, campers and staff cannot deny that the hype has never been higher. For the past week, I have seen smiles, laughter, and tons of fun had all around camp.

On Wednesday, June 17th the LTs continued one of camp’s longest standing traditions – Firewatch. Firewatch started in the mid-1900s and has continued over the years for the love of great food cooked in the Emu Pit, keeping watch over the fire, and of course, the story of the Alaskan Hummingbird. On Thursday, we had the special day, Cotechella, comparable to Carnival Day, but with a twist. It featured inflatables, all you can eat sno-cones, popcorn, and Andre Brewer’s famous Freedom Fries; Cotechella was a full day of fun for all.

At the conclusion of Cotechella, our international kitchen staff cooked some of the finest dishes native to their homelands. International Food Night included Slovakian pizza, authentic Mexican taco salad, Hungarian dumplings, and mini donuts provided by the LTs.

There have been so many great things in only one week, and there is still so much more of the session left to go. We are looking forward to the upcoming Sam Cote Classic, a multi-sport tournament spanning two weeks of the session, and the long-standing tradition of Color Wars, one of Camp Lincoln’s oldest and most loved special days.
