Camp Lake Hubert: Empowering Girls Since 1927
Girls camp
Stacey Dyer
Stacey is a Colorado native, where she grew up at Sanborn Western Camp while her father served as a Camp Director. She has been part of the Camp Lake Hubert community for 29 years, beginning as a camper—including the LT program—and continuing on staff in roles ranging from counselor to High Ropes Activity Director. Today, Stacey serves in a year-round leadership role, bringing decades of camp experience and a deep commitment to building strong, supported staff teams.
At camp, Stacey can often be found on the high ropes course, visiting the sailing dock, jumping into the lake, helping in the kitchen, or rescuing young eagles in need of a little extra care—often all in the same day. She is grateful for the continued support of her amazing husband, her adult children, and Clancy—the best dog ever—and values the opportunity to keep learning and growing alongside campers and staff.

FAQs
Can I bring my Game Boy, iPod, and phone to camp?
At Camp Lake Hubert, we embrace an “unplugged” philosophy to help everyone connect with nature and each other. While you may travel with your electronic devices, we kindly ask that you turn them in for safekeeping at the camp office upon your arrival. This ensures that camp remains a space to unwind and enjoy the great outdoors, free from the distractions of everyday electronic connections.
At the end of each session, cellular phones will be charged and returned to you for your trip home. We do allow CD/MP3 players, iPods, and Kindles that do not have video capability within the cabin. However, we recommend that speakers be left at home. If you choose to bring one, please keep it in your cabin and be mindful of the volume level and when you use it, as we respect our cabinmates and the natural surroundings.
Please note that Camp Lake Hubert is not responsible for any items that break, get lost, or are stolen. Please refer to our parent handbook for more details on our electronics policy.
If I come to camp with a friend from home, will we be in the same cabin?
What other rules do I need to know about camp?
At Camp Lake Hubert, safety—both physical and emotional—is our top priority. We ask that all campers follow our safety protocols in every aspect of camp life to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Campers are expected to embrace our five Core Camp Values, which you will hear often throughout the summer. As a community focused on belonging and support, we encourage you to show compassion to your fellow campers and foster an environment of social-emotional safety. This includes maintaining a clean living space, respecting yourself and others, and celebrating each other's differences.
And, of course, we expect you to have FUN! Specific camp expectations are also detailed in the Parent Handbook, so review it for more information.
We look forward to a summer filled with joy, friendship, and personal growth!
What if I have a birthday while at camp?
Can I bring items from home to make my sleeping room my own?
Is there a dress code?
Camp Lake Hubert is a non-uniform camp, but we expect campers to dress appropriately. We recommend comfortable and functional clothing that prepares you for Minnesota’s diverse weather and various activities. For water sports, we suggest wearing one-piece bathing suits that provide full coverage, ensuring you can fully enjoy the rigors of our aquatic adventures.
On Chapel Sundays, we honor a special tradition established by Grace Rogers, our founding camp director. We kindly ask that campers and staff wear all-white clothing to participate in this meaningful observance during our Chapel service.
What if I can’t get along with some of my cabin mates? Can I be moved or switch cabins?
I have many questions but don't know who to direct them to. Who should I contact?
We’re here to help! Please contact us with questions about camp policies, activities, etc. We believe camp and parents are partners in helping set up campers for success while away from home.
For specific inquiries, we encourage you to call the camp director directly. We are happy to talk with you or set up an online call to speak with the whole family. You can also contact us via email or phone with any general questions, and our friendly staff will be happy to assist you.
