Stacey Dyer

Director of Camp Lake Hubert

Stacey is a Colorado native, where she grew up at Sanborn Western Camp while her father served as a Camp Director. She has been part of the Camp Lake Hubert community for 29 years, beginning as a camper—including the LT program—and continuing on staff in roles ranging from counselor to High Ropes Activity Director. Today, Stacey serves in a year-round leadership role, bringing decades of camp experience and a deep commitment to building strong, supported staff teams.

At camp, Stacey can often be found on the high ropes course, visiting the sailing dock, jumping into the lake, helping in the kitchen, or rescuing young eagles in need of a little extra care—often all in the same day. She is grateful for the continued support of her amazing husband, her adult children, and Clancy—the best dog ever—and values the opportunity to keep learning and growing alongside campers and staff.

Favorite Camp Activity: Camp 2 Camp swim

Best Camp Memory: Cabin cookouts

Favorite Camp Meal: BBQ sandwiches & / Field meal ranch dip

Childhood Hobbies: Horseback Riding

Favorite Camp Core Value: Community

Goofiest thing I've done at Camp: Making 24 loaves of banana bread at one time using Camp's 100-year-old mixer. Best bread ever and I am sure it was all about the mixer.

Shay Magnuson

Associate Director

Shay grew up in Bend, Oregon, where she developed her love for the outdoors and mountains. She has been part of the Camp Lake Hubert community for 15 years, serving in a variety of seasonal leadership roles and now working year-round to create an environment where campers and staff feel supported, empowered, and connected.

A graduate from the University of Notre Dame, Shay previously worked for a non-profit advocating for individuals who use support services, helping them secure employment in the workforce. At camp, she can often be found running the Hubert Marathon, playing pickleball, and spending time with staff and campers - usually alongside her energetic dog, Camper.

Favorite Camp Activity: Paddleboarding and Pickleball

Best Camp Memory: Tap vespers on Bass Beach

Favorite Camp Meal: International Food Night

Childhood Hobbies: Gymnastics

Favorite Camp Core Value: Community

Goofiest thing I've done at Camp: Agreeing to judge a cabin cookout challenge - most memorably a peanut butter and jelly, Marshmallow Mateys, hot chocolate powder, and cottage cheese creation

CAMP SONGS

At Camp Lake Hubert, singing bonds us together, echoing across our grounds. From campfires to dining halls, our songs create connections between campers and staff. Generational classics and new tunes blend in our repertoire. Each cabin has its own song, shared at campfires and meals. It's a tradition we proudly uphold, teaching newcomers within their first days. In all-camp sing-alongs, our spirit shines bright as campers and staff unite in harmony, weaving the threads of our shared experience.

Camp Lake Hubert Song

For every Hubert girl is quite discreet
She's got that hundred per from head to feet
She's got that smile, that style, that winning way
No matter where you go, you'll recognize her and you'll say

Now there's a girl I'd like to know
She's got that good old Hubert pep and go
And just to look at her is quite a treat
It's hard to beat a Camp Lake Hubert girl

Blue Sky

[low/melody part]
There's a blue sky way up yonder
There's a blue sky o'er my head
There's a blue sky way up yonder
That's a cover for my bed
And wherever I wander and wherever I roam
There's a blue sky way up yonder
That's a calling me home

[high/harmony part]
There's a blue sky, blue sky o'er my head
There's a blue sky, blue sky cover for my bed
And wherever I wander and wherever I roam
There's a blue sky, blue sky calling me home

Barges

Out of my window looking in the night
I can see the barges flickering light
Silently flows the river to the sea
And the barges too go silently
Chorus: Barges, I would like to go with you
I would like to sail the ocean blue
Barges, have you treasures in our hold
Do you fight with pirates brave and bold
Out of my window looking in the night
I can see the barges flickering light
Starboard shines green and port is glowing red
I can see the barges up ahead
Chorus

The River Nile

I'm gonna build my castle on the Nile
So I can live in elegant style
Inlaid diamonds on the floor
Bamboo butlers at my door
I'm gonna marry my Prince Alibu (or princess)
My blood will change from red to blue
Entertaining royalty all the while
In my castle, castle, castle on the River Nile
The River Nile
