Camp Lake Hubert offers more than 40 land and water activities catering to various interests. From exciting challenges and thrilling water sports to creative performing and visual arts, as well as engaging land activities, campers have the freedom to choose their adventures. Campers select four activities during each activity block over the course of three days, allowing them to focus on their favorites or try something new. We also emphasize skill progression through our time-tested awards programs, allowing campers to start as novices and work their way up through consistent practice and dedication.

Sailing

Camp Lake Hubert's sailing program is designed to cater to all skill levels, ensuring every camper can learn and grow at their own pace. Our classes are led by trained staff, providing a supportive environment where campers can develop their sailing abilities, from beginners to advanced sailors.

Camp Lake Hubert provides a variety of boards and metered sails for windsurfing. Under the guidance of trained staff, campers learn fundamental techniques like rigging and water safety, advancing to more complex skills such as tacking and jibing. Progress is tracked through an achievement-based awards system, ensuring continual improvement. Safety is paramount, with all participants required to wear life jackets.

Camp Lake Hubert offers prime fishing opportunities. Renowned for its diverse species, including Sunnies, Crappie, Small and Large Mouth Bass, Pike, Walleye, and Catfish, Lake Hubert provides an ideal setting for anglers of all levels. Campers learn baiting techniques and practice catch-and-release while using provided rods, reels, and bait. All participants are required to wear life jackets.

Dive excitedly with our Waterfront activities, closely monitored by American Red Cross-certified staff. Experience the thrill of running the Water Wheel, enjoying our zipline into the water, conquering the Water Weenie and having a blast on the Water Mat. Our Waterfront offers a variety of engaging activities, including a Polar Bear swim, snorkeling, Water Aerobics, Water Volleyball, and free swims and All Camp swims. For added adventure, campers can also enjoy banana boating and Swan Jumping as an evening activity, along with a range of fun water games.

Held on Camp Lake Huberts serene Bass Lake, paddleboarding has quickly become one of the camp's most popular activities. Campers enjoy the tranquility of stand-up paddleboarding and benefit from the anaerobic core exercise. In accordance with camp safety standards, all campers and staff wear life jackets while participating in this activity.

Waterskiing

Our specially trained staff double as American Red Cross Lifeguards and work to teach beginning and advanced skills, while tracking progress with an achievement-based awards system. Campers learn to cross the wake, slalom, and perform proper safety hand signals. All campers and staff wear life jackets while participating in this activity.

Campers receive explicit instruction on safe shotgun handling, focusing on responsible firearm use. All participants must wear ear and eye protection while shooting.

Campers must be at least 12 years old to join the trapshooting program. They can track their progress through an achievement-based awards system, helping them witness their growth in skills and knowledge.

All Camp Lake Hubert, campers participate in a Wilderness Program to a certain degree. Just by living at camp, our campers learn to live comfortably and safely in our Northwoods environment. For those campers who are interested in furthering their outdoor skills, our Wilderness Program offers instruction in Compass Orienteering, Outdoor Cooking, Wilderness Safety, Shelter Construction, Canoeing, Kayaking, Tenting, Camping, and Fire Building.

Special Days

At Camp Lake Hubert, the fun never stops! Our exciting activities are complemented by specialty-themed days that occur two to three times each session. These special days allow us to break from our traditional activities and schedule, embracing a new sense of silliness and fun at camp.

These themed days infuse imagination and excitement into camp life, creating unforgettable memories for both campers and staff. With unique activities and playful challenges, everyone can unleash their silly side and enjoy a refreshing twist on the camp experience.
