The Shared Experience of Summer Camp

As we bring another summer to a close at Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert, it is hard to believe how quickly it all went.

We spend so much time each year preparing for summer, hiring the right staff, planning consistent and new programs, getting all the camp grounds up and running after a cold winter and spring, and counting down the days until campers arrive. Then suddenly the buses pull in, camp comes alive, and before we know it, we are saying goodbye.

An Amazing Summer at Camp 2026

We had an incredible group of staff at both camps this year. They brought energy, creativity, patience, humor and, most importantly, a genuine commitment to making camp special for our campers. Our Camp offers many layers of programming and activities asking a lot from our staff, and we are incredibly grateful for the way they showed up each day, stepped in when they were needed and gave so much of themselves to our camp communities. Our team is exceptional and they always show up in the best way when needing to go that extra mile. 

Summer Campers are the heartbeat of Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert.

They are what brings our camps to life in a huge way.

Campers fill the cabins with laughter, the dining halls with chatter and the waterfronts and activity areas with energy. They make new friends and reconnect with old ones. They try things they weren't sure they could do. They learn to be a little more independent, a little more confident and a little more willing to take on something new.

Campers sing the songs, tell the stories and participate in traditions that have been passed down for generations. And along the way, they create memories and traditions of their own. This is what makes our camps so memorable.

It isn't one big event or one perfect day. It's a multitude of little moments throughout the summer where challenges are met. We see campers getting up on waterskis, hitting a bullseye, sailing on their own, reaching the top of the climbing wall, gaining confidence on a horse, laughing until their stomach hurts at dinner, or simply sitting on a cabin porch talking with friends. It's all part of the process for learning, watching their friends do things they once couldn't imagine doing, and boom, they are doing it.

These are the moments that become the stories campers take home with them. Years later, they may not remember every activity or every meal but they remember how camp made them feel, the friendships they made and the people who shared those experiences with them.

Summer Magic at both Camps

As we close the chapter on summer 2026 and begin turning our attention toward summer 2027, we are reminded again how fortunate we are to have families who believe in what happens at camp and continue to make Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert part of their family traditions.

We are already looking forward to 2027.  Welcoming campers back, meeting new ones, making more memories, telling old stories and keeping the traditions of Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert alive for another summer.
